HIGHLIGHTS

Virtual Conference: Annual Accounting Update Conference 2021: You Gotta Move On

CPD hour: 4

The virtual conference on 13 Nov will discuss how to prepare for the recent changes in financial reporting. The setting of financial reporting standards and application issues of the Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards, including recent agenda decisions and newly or not yet effective standards, the future of corporate reporting, and the emerging issues including cryptocurrencies and special purpose acquisition companies will be covered.

Young Members Virtual Conference

CPD hour: 2

Join the virtual conference, "Building an arsenal for young accountants – new trends and skillsets for future-ready CPAs", on 6 Nov to learn more and develop skillsets to enrich your long-term career prospects. The speakers will share their insights on skillsets required for young CPAs under the new market trends covering subjects relating to artificial intelligence, big data, cryptocurrencies, security token offerings, listed companies, as well as environmental, social and governance reporting.

Practice Management Series for SMPs - Recruiting and engaging with staff members

CPD hour: 1.5

In the lunch webinar on 9 Nov, the speaker will cover how to better plan the interview process so that appropriate candidates can be identified, and the key considerations in staff engagement and retention. She will discuss further on leveraging structured behavioural interviews to identify appropriate candidates and how leaders can use both heart (emotional) and head (rational) to communicate and give feedback to team members.

Digital Transformation Series

FSIG webinar - The Latest Development of Regulatory Technology

Join the Financial Services Interest Group (FSIG) webinar on 22 Nov, the speakers will explore the overall development of "regtech" – regulatory technology – including the relationship between assurance and regtech, the cost and benefits of usage, and challenges faced, with a focus on how it is related to accountants and auditors.

Taxation Faculty new e-learning programmes

The Taxation Faculty has released three new e-seminars, covering various topics such as the IRD’s guidance on COVID-19 related tax issues, the Board of Review case D7/19 and the US Tax Reform. Get the latest taxation updates with convenience and flexibility whenever you want through these e-seminars.
