Mandatory CPD requirements |
Members are required to complete 120 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) in a 3-year rolling period. This includes 60 hours which must be verifiable; and at least 20 hours of relevant professional development activity in each year. Learn more about CPD requirements and find other FAQs on CPD here. |

The revamped Business Valuation Programme is designed to provide participants with technical expertise and real-world industry examples on the valuation of various assets. The virtual conference on 25 November will cover the standard setting function of the Institute and major standard setting projects in progress, the amendments with effective dates in 2023 and 2024, and forthcoming standards to be issued in 2024, as well as the application issues of Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS) and common pitfalls identified through the recent regulators' inspection. The update on IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, including key requirements of IFRS S1 and IFRS S2, connectivity between financial and sustainability reporting, and the impact of climate-related matters on financial statements will also be discussed. |

The Insolvency Preparatory I course is calling for enrolment. This introductory course for insolvency administration will start in October over five Saturdays through webinars. LSP/SP abolishment offset, an HR issue with financial implications |
31 October. Hosted by GUM, the seminar will explore the impact of the abolition of the severance payment (SP) and long service payment (LSP) offsetting mechanism and how accounting professionals can collaborate effectively with HR departments to navigate the new guidelines of Hong Kong Accounting Standard 19 Employee Benefits. Implications of recent changes to financial reporting standards and key assumptions to accurately estimate provisions for LSP liabilities will also be covered. |
Business Sustainability Conference 2023 – Management Information System (MIS) for Sustainability |
