The Institute issues Alert regarding the launch of ISSB standards |

In light of the publication of the International Sustainability Standards Board’s (ISSB) two inaugural standards, the Institute issued an Alert to outline its roadmap for developing sustainability disclosure standards for the accounting profession in Hong Kong |
|

- The HKICPA’s role in setting sustainability disclosure standards and the Institute’s involvement in the international sustainability standard-setting arena;
- Proposal to adopt the IFRS SD Standards as the HKICPA’s sustainability disclosure standards;
- Do Hong Kong incorporated companies have to comply with the sustainability disclosure standards developed by the HKICPA? and
- Next steps.

The collaborative programme “Smart Way Forward 2023” co-organized by the Institute and Caritas School Social Work Service has resumed to physical format this year. Two Accountant Ambassadors of the Institute, who are also QP graduates, hosted a career talk at the Institute on 24 June for about 30 secondary school students to share their learning experiences and career path as CPAs. |

The Institute conducts a continuing professional development (CPD) compliance audit exercise. For the annual CPD compliance audit, members selected must submit their CPD records with supporting documents for verification. Winning awards for best outfit at two dragon boat races |
The Institute's dragon boat team participated in the Sun Life Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships 2023 and 2023 Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races held on 22 and 25 June respectively. The team won the award for best outfit in both races. Click to see the photos. |

To provide more opportunities for young people to participate in policy discourse and to better understand government operations, the government has enhanced its Member Self-recommendation Scheme for Youth and expanded it to cover more boards and committees. Phase 6 is now open for applications until 29 June. If you are aged between 18 and 35, and interested in supporting Hong Kong's development, send in your self-nomination to become a member of one of the recruiting government advisory committees.
