Rich Kid, Poor Kid programme

With its status as one of the largest professional bodies in Hong Kong, the Institute has long demonstrated a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility.

“Rich Kid, Poor Kid” (RKPK), the Institute’s flagship programme launched in 2005, has played a pivotal role in nurturing financial literacy among Hong Kong’s younger generations. Supported by our dedicated Accountant Ambassadors, the programme leverages the professional expertise of CPAs to give back to society through interactive and impactful learning experiences.

Over the past two decades, more than 460 Accountant Ambassadors have organized over 1,200 free seminars, reaching over 200,000 primary and secondary school students. These sessions help instill positive financial management concepts and lay a solid foundation for future financial planning.

The programme’s achievements have been widely recognized, earning accolades such as the “Financial Education Champion” (2019 & 2020), the “Investor and Financial Education Award 2024 (Public/Professional Body and NGOs) Bronze Award”, and the Asia PR Awards “Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign of the Year.”

Looking ahead, the Institute remains committed to enhancing financial education resources, expanding outreach, and nurturing financially savvy generations to contribute to Hong Kong’s long-term prosperity and stability.

Accountant Ambassadors volunteer their time to visit schools and teach students the fundamentals of financial management. The students enjoy the sessions and actively take part in the Q&A discussions.
