Arrangements for the December 2020 Session of the QP

The health and well-being of our students, members and stakeholders are of utmost importance to us and we seek to make sure the upcoming examination session can go ahead as smoothly as possible at this uncertain time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since our last message sent to you in July 2020, the Institute’s Qualification and Examinations Board and the management staff have worked tirelessly to develop the following contingency plan with flexible arrangements for the December 2020 Session of the Qualification Programme (“QP”).

Examination venues and dates

For many years, Asia World-Expo has served as the Institute’s examination centre in Hong Kong, enabling thousands of students at a time to sit examinations in a single location. This year the centre is being used by the government in its COVID-19 response and may not be a suitable location for holding examinations. We have therefore searched for alternative locations across Hong Kong to be used as examination venues for the December 2020 Session.

In the process of securing sufficient examination venues to accommodate all enrolments on certain dates, we have to move the examinations one month earlier than usual. Please note the schedule for the examinations is revised as follows:

• The four Module Examinations are on 28 and 29 November 2020
• The Final Examination is on 22 November 2020

You will receive an email to ask for confirming your attendance for the revised dates. You are required to re-register your enrolment for sitting the examinations. If any enrolled students cannot make the revised dates, they can choose to withdraw from the enrolled examination by 14 September 2020 and will have their enrolment fees refunded.

In order to mitigate the potential disruption COVID-19 may cause, we have setup two additional timeslots for the examinations in late December 2020 and late January 2021 as reserves in case the examinations cannot be conducted on schedule. The reserved dates are tentative and subject to confirmation of various factors such as venue availability. Workshop delivery

The workshops will be held as face-to-face events with reduced class size. If there are high levels of community transmission of COVID-19, then we will consider holding the workshops online in order to protect the health of students, workshop facilitators and management staff. Details about the arrangements for each examination and workshop, in both Hong Kong and Mainland China, will be sent to enrolled students soon.

Ensuring a healthy examination session

Throughout the examination session, the Institute will put in place precautionary measures to ensure a hygienic environment and safeguard the health of our students and those people involved in conducting the workshops and examinations. Rest assured that we will follow safety measures recommended by the Centre for Health Protection.

We remain vigilant to the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to consider any other possible solutions.
