Position Paper on Changes to Practical Experience Framework
28 November 2018
The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (the "Institute") has completed the comprehensive review of the Practical Experience Framework to ensure the framework aligns with international standards and the best practices of leading accountancy bodies.
The revised Practical Experience Framework is the result of an extensive review by independent consultants from a top-tier overseas accountancy body and a major international accounting firm and consultation with various stakeholders, including members and students of the Institute, employers, practitioners, Authorized Employers ("AE") and Authorized Supervisors ("AS"). In general, there is strong support for the changes to the Practical Experience Framework.
More details about the consultation can be found on its dedicated webpage.
The revised Practical Experience Framework enhances the flexibility of the practical experience requirements to embrace the wide variety of work environments, strengthens the quality assurance of the AE and AS system, promotes communication between all parties involved and improves the transparency and timeliness of documentation through online system.
