Membership designation (CPA & FCPA)

The membership designation is governed by the Professional Accountants By-law 22.

A member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants shall use the designation “Certified Public Accountant ( 會計師 )” and the initials “CPA” after his or her name.

A CPA having seven years' standing with the Institute may apply to council for advancement to fellowship. The application for advancement to fellowship is governed by Professional Accountants By-law 22.

After advancement to fellowship, a CPA shall use the designation “Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants ( 資深會計師 )” and the initials “FCPA” after his / her name.

Digital Badge

To further support members in promoting their professional standing, the Institute has recently rolled out a digital badge for CPA and FCPA designations. The digital badge enables members to showcase their designation in a secure, verifiable, and modern format across various professional networking platforms. This initiative enhances the visibility and recognition of the CPA and FCPA designations while reinforcing members’ professional credibility in an increasingly digital environment. (Application for digital badge will be made available online once requests made during membership renewal have been processed.)
