The Institute often receives requests for assistance from students undertaking research projects in accountancy or related fields. The following are the guidelines that have been established to enable students to receive the information they require:
- Requests must be in written form and submitted via department lecturers. The objectives and methodology of research must be included.
- It must be demonstrated that some research has already been done by the student / group of students and that the questions raised are specific and directly related to the accountancy profession and to the project.
- At least a fortnight's notice should be given to the Institute to supply information or to arrange interviews.
- Questions seeking opinions on matters on which the Institute has not yet taken an official stand will not be entertained.
